Green New Deal Town Hall (Perkasie, PA)
May 11 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pmFREE
With more than 100 Members of Congress backing the Green New Deal and nearly all major Democratic Presidential hopefuls on board, the Green New Deal is one of the top issues on the political agenda. The purpose of this town hall is to provide our community with the chance to learn about the ambition, opportunity, and promise of a Green New Deal, hear from political and community leaders, and help everyone understand that the GND isn’t about taking away cows or cars; it’s about building things up and investing in the American people.
On Sat., May 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Pennridge High School will be the scene of a Green New Deal Town Hall. Several experts in the field will present facts and answer questions about this sweeping proposal to build the infrastructure of the future. Vera Cole, President of the Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Association, Jennifer Isaacs, Chair of the Bucks County Green Party, and Russell Zerbo, a representative of the Clean Air Council, will speak about various aspects of the Green New Deal and take questions from the audience.
This event is sponsored by Upper BuxMont Rising, a local grassroots activist organization, in conjunction with the Sunrise Movement’s national series of Town Halls for the Green New Deal. Come to the “LGI Room” (the “old” auditorium) at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA.
