How Soil Chemistry, Homemade Mineral Amendments, and Regenerative Agricultural Practices Can Affect the Nutrition in Our Food
October 27 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Using nature as a model, we can improve plant nutrition and reduce insect and pathogen pressures. Plants use minerals in specific forms, making their availability dependent on local conditions. Homemade mineral amendments are low cost or free, using local materials – often closing waste gaps – and are in plant-available forms and ratios. Analysis of these amendments supports their use during particular phases of plant development. A plant soil model will be presented that can be used to navigate these relationships and identify ways to facilitate nature’s processes.
